About K.Nabot SACCO
K.Nabot SACCO — Kebirigo Nabot Savings & Credit Co-operative Society Limited — is a savings and credit co-operative for Kenyans who run small and micro businesses.
Who we are for
Most of our members earn a living a day at a time: the mama mboga restocking her stall each morning, the boda boda rider saving towards his own bike, the restaurant owner buying a freezer, the farmer waiting for harvest. Banks often find these businesses too small or too irregular. A Sacco is built for exactly this kind of income — that is why it exists.
What joins us together is called the common bond: members share the same world of small and micro business, as individuals or in registered groups — self-help, women's and youth groups, boda boda groups, mama mboga groups, horticultural farmer groups, CBOs and institutions.
How a Sacco works
A co-operative is owned by its members, not by outside shareholders. When you buy founder shares you become a part-owner. Members save regularly, the savings pool funds the loans, and loans go to other members. Decisions are made through elected officials and the annual general meeting, under the rules set out in the Sacco's constitution.
K.Nabot SACCO is registered under the co-operative societies act. The certificate details will be published on this site once the certificate copy is verified.
What we believe about money
Our tagline is the whole philosophy: Save regularly, borrow wisely & repay promptly. Small amounts, saved every week without fail, are worth more than a large amount saved once. Your savings record is your credit record — it is what lets you borrow later without payslips or land titles.
Where we work
The registered office is in Kitale, Ambwere Plaza, 2nd Floor, P.O. Box 139-30200, Kitale, with offices and field officers across several counties. The Offices page lists every town — we are confirming each address and will publish full details as they are verified.
A note on the figures on this site
Some of the Sacco's older documents show different figures for the same fee or loan. Wherever that happens we flag the figure To be confirmed rather than guess. The signed schedule, once supplied by the Sacco, will replace them.
