The three payments, explained

Savings — Ksh 350+ on Monday and Wednesday To be confirmed

Savings are your money, held by the Sacco. They do two jobs: they build a cushion for you, and they build the record that qualifies you for a loan. The rule is Ksh 350 or more every Monday and Wednesday — more is always allowed.

Founder shares — 120 shares at Ksh 100 To be confirmed

Shares are ownership, not savings. Buying your 120 founder shares (Ksh 12,000 in total, within 12 months) makes you a part-owner of the Sacco. You pay Ksh 250 every Friday until the shares are complete.

Welfare fund — Ksh 500 by the 5th To be confirmed

The Members' Welfare and Monthly Administration Fund supports members through hospital bills, weddings and similar events. It is the Sacco standing with you when life happens, not a payment for nothing.

How to pay

Every payment — registration, savings, shares and welfare — goes through one number:

Lipa na M-Pesa

Paybill 309945

Account: ID number#First name (e.g. 444445#Joseph)

Pay only through M-Pesa Paybill 309945. K.Nabot SACCO staff will never ask you to send money to a personal phone number.

Keep the M-Pesa confirmation message; it is your receipt. Cash payments are not accepted — pay by Paybill only. Payment rules being confirmed

If you leave: the exit rules in plain words

Read these before you join, not after:

  • No partial withdrawal. You cannot take out part of your savings and stay a member. Savings stay in the Sacco until you withdraw from membership completely.
  • 90 working days' notice. Leaving the Sacco requires written notice of 90 working days — roughly four months. Plan around it.
  • Shares are sold, not refunded. When you leave, your founder shares are sold to another member, less a transfer fee of Ksh 2,500.
  • Loans first. Any outstanding loan must be cleared before savings are returned.
  • 3 months of missed payments. Membership ceases if you miss savings or welfare payments for 3 months in a row.

These rules come from the Sacco's constitution and are being reviewed for accuracy To be confirmed. The constitution itself is being corrected before publication — this page is the plain-language version.
